GÜLŞEN ASLAN USLU received her B.A. (2008), M.A. (2011), and Ph.D. (2018) degrees from the Department of American Culture and Literature at Hacettepe University where she works as an Assistant Professor. Her M.A. Thesis was published as a book entitled Wandering Schizo-Nomads in Postmodern Spaces in 2014. She conducted part of her research project at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 2015. She worked with the American author Lance Olsen for her Ph.D. dissertation, “Postmodern Space Revisited: Hypertextuality and Materiality in the Selected Novels of Mark Z. Danielewski, Steve Tomasula, and Lance Olsen.” Dr. Aslan participated in European Union education and training programs in Austria, Denmark, and Germany during her studies. She currently teaches courses on American Literary History, American Short Story, and Contemporary American Novel at the Department of American Culture and Literature at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Türkiye. Aslan’s research interests include intermedia studies, critical theory and fiction, contemporary novel, comparative literature, enviromental literature.
